Netzaberg Elementary School Newsletter

Dear Dragon Families,
It’s hard to believe, but we have less than five weeks of school left! As we round the final stretch of the school year, we’re filled with gratitude, pride, and excitement for all that’s happened—and all that’s still to come.
This past week was especially meaningful as we celebrated Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week. A heartfelt thank you goes out to our incredible PTA for the love, effort, and thoughtful surprises they poured into making our teachers and staff feel so valued. From sweet treats to warm messages, your kindness lifted every spirit in our building. We are truly grateful. Parents and students, thank you as well for your kind notes, generous gestures, and warm smiles throughout the week—it meant the world to us!
We’re also nearing the finish line of our Summative Assessments. A big shoutout to our amazing counselors for their tireless support in making this process smooth and encouraging. And to our students—you’ve shown resilience, focus, and a true commitment to doing your best. We’re so proud of you!
Looking ahead, we’re excited to host a virtual Author Visit on Tuesday, May 13th, where students will have a chance to hear from a real author and be inspired by the power of storytelling. Then, on Friday, May 16th, our 3rd graders will showcase their learning and creativity at the Economy Fair—an event we know will be both fun and educational!
As always, thank you for your continued support and partnership. Your involvement helps make our school community a truly special place. Let’s keep lifting each other up and finish this year strong—together.
With warmest wishes,
The NES Team

Counselor's Corner

Let’s thrive together as we countdown to SUMMER 2025!
Families, teachers, and students can dress up or do one of the following fun activities to count our way to summer! You are welcome to join us as we celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month and the END of THE SCHOOL YEAR!
Starting this Friday, May 2nd, there will be 26 school days left of school!
May is also a time to raise awareness of and reduce the stigma surrounding behavioral health conditions, as well as highlighting the ways how mental illness and addiction can affect all of us. This is a time to practice self-care~
“True self-care refers to the choices we make that enhance our mental and physical health. Good sleep hygiene, good nutrition, exercise, adequate hydration, etc. are all essential building blocks of staying well. We often engage in activities such as shopping, indulging in treats, binge watching movies or playing games on electronics and consider this to be self-care. These activities may provide a temporary escape, but they can be a slippery, addictive slope that doesn’t contribute to our goal of being healthy and well. It’s important to limit these activities or even eliminate them completely if they are a crutch rather than something that helps us grow and thrive”
