Counselor's Corner

Let’s thrive together as we countdown to SUMMER 2025!
Families, teachers, and students can dress up or do one of the following fun activities to count our way to summer! You are welcome to join us as we celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month and the END of THE SCHOOL YEAR!
Starting this Friday, May 2nd, there will be 26 school days left of school!
May is also a time to raise awareness of and reduce the stigma surrounding behavioral health conditions, as well as highlighting the ways how mental illness and addiction can affect all of us. This is a time to practice self-care~
“True self-care refers to the choices we make that enhance our mental and physical health. Good sleep hygiene, good nutrition, exercise, adequate hydration, etc. are all essential building blocks of staying well. We often engage in activities such as shopping, indulging in treats, binge watching movies or playing games on electronics and consider this to be self-care. These activities may provide a temporary escape, but they can be a slippery, addictive slope that doesn’t contribute to our goal of being healthy and well. It’s important to limit these activities or even eliminate them completely if they are a crutch rather than something that helps us grow and thrive”
